Ways To Buy Your Household Furniture Cheap
There are many ways these days that you can put together a stylish home. Don’t rush straight down to the nearest store just because of the it’s name; these will charge you top dollar and there are many other ways to get the same things but a lot cheaper.
So think a bit more out of the box as to where to get your things from. Check out garage sales and market places, consignment shops are a good place for bargain, and my personal favorite, Craigslist.
The amount of furniture for sale in the classifieds is astounding, and most of it is in excellent condition and are usually 50% or more less than you would pay retail.
Garage sales can be very good or very bad. The weekend sales are usually the best and you can find some great bargains.
Yard sales can be a lot of fun if you go to them realistically and don’t set your expectations too high. On the plus side you get to actually see the stuff as opposed to just a picture and there are no charges to shipping as its instant purchase. There are dedicated yard sale addicts who plan their weekends around these sales.
Market sales will also generally have merchandise at reduced prices but check the quality before you buy. One good things about markets is that you may find craftsmen selling their own goods, and you can get these for a real bargain.
Garage and yard sales that are held by your neighbors are another great source of inspiration. As they are selling to locals they tend not to want to be seen to have tatty furniture so the quality should be good. They may also sell stuff for their family and friends, but the same rule regarding quality will still apply.
These don’t come around often enough unfortunately, so grab the chance of a bargain whenever you can.
